FRIENDS OF THE ACADEMY (FOTA) is a booster organization created to support the activities of the Visual & Performing Arts Academy (VPAA) at Salem High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. 

FOTA OBJECTIVES:

1. This support shall be subject to the approval of the Salem High School and VPAA administrations.To support VPAA programs by providing assistance and support in the form of services and funds, within its resources.
    

2. To build a lasting and sustainable association of boosters to promote the general activities of the VPAA.
    

3. To promote the artistic interests of the students and members of the surrounding community.
    

4. To facilitate communication between the VPAA and family members/guardians concerning VPAA functions and activities.
    

5. To promote, but not seek to influence or direct, the activities, curriculum and policies of VPAA programs.
    

6. To serve as the fiscal agent for all VPAA Strand Committees for the purpose of entering into contracts and maintaining all funds.
    

7. To operate in accordance with prescribed policies, rules and regulations of Virginia Beach City Public Schools.
